Question: What are your thoughts about digital portfolios? Is LinkedIn enough or should candidates have a digital portfolio to supplement LinkedIn?

Response: I love digital portfolios as they provide an incredible amount of insight into the candidate’s professional background, experience, and expertise. Digital portfolios are especially important for creative / design roles like digital, media, film, etc. It gives the viewer an understanding of the candidate’s style and ability to convey a message effectively. It’s highly critical. And it goes back to the old saying “…a picture is worth a thousand words…” Having a profile on LinkedIn is important and a critical must-have platform for any job seeker — but it needs to be complete. If that completion includes a digital portfolio then be sure to add the links on your LinkedIn profile.
